How Boards Should Respond to Dramatic Change
|
Sudden and dramatic changes in financial markets. Consumer and customer confusion and fear. A looming global recession. Companies' 2009 budgets, projections and plans -- in many cases already reviewed and approved by the Board -- will likely require more than mere tweaking at the margin to take into account recent events, trends and uncertainties. Moreover, many boards will want to be constructively engaged in revisiting, reassessing, and retesting their companies' strategic plans in the context of the new dynamic landscape. Our panel, which will include Michael Patsalos-Fox, Chairman of the Americas Region, McKinsey & Company, and Patricia Chadwick, Director at Wisconsin Energy, Amica Mutual, and ING Funds, will discuss the Board's critical role in overseeing and bringing value to their companies' planning processes in the current environment.
