James Gunderson is owner and chief executive of Governance and Transactions LLC, an advisory firm assisting boards, management and owners with governance and compliance issues, often in connection with strategic transactions. He has served as a member of the board of several private multinational companies, including Chair of the Audit and Nominating Committee, and later as Chairman of the Board, of Aibel Group Limited. Mr. Gunderson spent 18 years with Schlumberger Limited, including three years as Secretary and General Counsel. He subsequently served as General Counsel of Vetco International after its buyout from ABB until its sale to GE.
Mr. Gunderson is Chair of the NACD's New York Chapter and the California Music Project. Mr. Gunderson received a BA degree in philosophy from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a JD from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
